I don't have any default keep at range or orbit set... that might be useful.

I would add to your "execution" only that people should take their time in your step 3. You have a minute of gate cloak before you have to do anything. That is plenty of time to look at the dscan and even do a few narrow-beam scans, in order to gain info on the system and decide how to proceed.Von Keigaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14469707993470718130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7656651603131896852.post-42094524004395194042014-06-03T00:38:47.282-04:002014-06-03T00:38:47.282-04:00To add to survivability i recommend these followin...To add to survivability i recommend these following tips for scouts/cloakies of all kinds:

set up:
1) set your default keep at range to 150km, and your orbit to your combat optimal
2) move you cloak and mwd/afterburner to easily accessible hot keys (F1 and F2 for example)
3)check overview settings, ships/wh's/force-fields and probes showing at minimum
4)d-scan window open on screen w/ scan button ready to click
5) (optional) load combats, swap to cores later if no targets present
---- scanning only with combats increases the odds of seeing a ship log in while scanning sigs

execution
3) immediately hit d-scan
4) click on wh
5) in rapid succession hit: keep at range, MWD, cloak
----- note ensure cloak activates with proximity in mind
----- if you wish, you can add probe launch as well(if people are on grid they saw you anyways, might as well have the option to scan w/o further d-cloak)
6)if fleet is present observer their movement(drones included) and adjust course as needed to prevent d-cloak
----- avoid the urge to align to celestials unless your extremely certain you can warp off in time, expert fleets will use celestials you are closely aligned to against you
----- you didn't skip step 5 right? else, you very easily run across the wh again and loose cloak, while observing their reactions, or accidentally run out of gate cloak while looking for a hole in their blob
7)bookmark wh
8)proceed with Von's blog

this works on gates as well, but you need to swap the roles of orbit and keep at range, as you cannot keep a gate at rangeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7656651603131896852.post-5929701470970179422014-06-02T14:52:29.743-04:002014-06-02T14:52:29.743-04:00My question!! When your scan window is showing it gives you a top-down view of the system. When you fire probes they appear on the screen. Generally you want to move them up vertically far enough they can't be d-scanned. You can do this by using the handy Z-axis arrow on the probes. Just carefully position your cursor over on the screen normal arrow (z-axis) and drag it a centimeter to the right. Congratulations, you've just positioned your probes 300 AU out of the system and can quickly hit the scan button to send them there.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01832373408345873324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7656651603131896852.post-25483054871527036192014-06-02T08:06:10.962-04:002014-06-02T08:06:10.962-04:00hi Mr VK
